East Harptree Nursery Pre School and Forest School is set in the heart of the community, nestled in between the beautiful Chew Valley and the stunning Mendips. Founded in 1982, we are a feeder school to the local primary schools in Banes and Somerset.
We are incredibly lucky to have three indoor areas including a spacious hall as well as a secure outdoor play area. Opening times are Monday to Thursday, 08.00 to 18.00 and Friday, 08.00 to 17.00, term time only. We take children from two to five years old.
Every Friday the pre reception children head out to Forest School, run by our Level 3 qualified Forest School leader. We are very privileged to have the use of the 18th century, Grade II listed, East Harptree Court with 55 acres of peaceful woodland and fields full of wildlife that gives us plenty of places to play, climb trees, bug hunt and explore.
The high staff to children ratio creates a free flowing environment which enables us to follow the children’s interests and give focus sessions. Every week we also offer music, drama, cookery and yoga sessions. We work with parents to help children be the best they can be, guiding them throughout different areas of learning and emotional development through a wide range of activities.
East Harptree Nursery Preschool and Forest School is a registered charity and run by a dedicated committee of parents.
